About Us

The University of Sewing is a BERNINA sewing machine and Longarm dealer in Bloomington, IN. We opened in 2017 to teach sewing. We currently sell apparel, quilting fabric, patterns, BERNINA and Bernette sewing machines, and sewing notions. We offer sewing classes, BERNINA mastery lessons, and events all year long. We service BERNINA and Bernette sewing machines. We’d like to personally invite you to stop by today for all your sewing needs.

I went to the store with a couple friends about a month ago, and our guild went yesterday. The store is very neat and organized. They have a beautiful selection of fabrics, notions, and patterns. They also have several Bernina sewing machines on display. The associates are very friendly, greet you with a smile, and will assist you in whatever you may need. The manager, Rachel, is also very welcoming and friendly. We drove up from Kentucky, almost a 3 hour drive, and was worth every bit!! We plan to go again soon. I didn’t take photos inside. Will do next time! 😊 Highly recommend!!!
